Back pain and core strength, does it matter?

Low back pain is a major cause of suffering for modern day humans. The causes of back pain are multifactorial, so it is very difficulty to pin point one cause as the culprit. One common culprit, is performance trunk musculature - or core strength. This is often blamed as the source of back pain. And sometimes, it does play a relevant role. But not all the time.
